How I highlight and contour

Highlighting and contouring can make a difference to your make up. Highlighting is done by using a light shade. You highlight to accentuate features of your face and can use highlighting as a way to make your face appear slimmer. Highlighting also gives your face that healthy glow. Contouring is used to hide features of your face and to give you an overall different shape. When contouring make sure you use a darker shade to your skintone.

I use blank canvas cosmetics highlight and contour palette.

Highly recommend this! The light shades I use to highlight. The two dark shades mix to contour and the two medium shades I add to the cheekbones.

Sorry about the bad camera quality and messing up the video!
I'll do another blogpost soon on highlighting and contouring tips when I am less busy. I hope you liked this post :-)

Indian look

Yesterday, I attended an Indian Mela with my best friends. Mela is a Hindi/Sanskrit word for gathering/fair.  The mela was a lot of fun with Bollywood dancing and music. My friends and I even got to join the dancers on stage and dance! For this event I decided to do brown smokey eyes with the addition of a gold bindi on my forehead as an Indian touch. I'm sorry you can't really see the smokey eyes in the photo, bad camera! I used Collection 2000 smokey eyes pallete for the eyeshadow which can be purchased from Boots. I also curled my hair using the Nicky Clarke thin barrelled hair curler to give it the summer beach look 😊

PRODUCT REVIEW: SUPERDRUG FACE MASKS

As a student, living on a (supposed to be very) strict budget, facials at salons have become an ultimate luxury. This is where Superdrug comes to the rescue --> http://www.superdrug.com/superdrug-face-masks-new/icat/sdmasks

The face masks are cheap (only 99p) and at the moment they have a special offer of 4 for 3. I have blemished skin which was looking very tired from all the revision and exam stress therefore I chose to buy the Dead Sea Purifying Clay Mask; Destressing Mud Mask and Cucumber Cooling Clay Mask.
All the packs have a plentiful supply of face mask, can be used by two persons or saved for another time (roll the top of the pack so that it doesn't dry.) When applied, you leave it for 15 mins and then rinse it off.

The Dead Sea Purifying Clay Mask (For oily/blemished skin)
When you open the pack, it smells amazing, you get a fragrance of eucalyptus and lemon. My skin looked noticeably more brighter and felt so soft. Blemishes also appeared less visible. For those of you wondering, I didn't feel any tingling or sensations with this mask, I know some masks give that feel. This is my favourite to use.

Destressing Mud Mask
This mask really is a must have if you have been really stressed out and it is noticeable on your face. After using this, I found my skin looked so much more brighter and refreshed. It also gives your skin the soft, supple feeling which makes applying make up much more easier. A must have for those revision periods and long working weeks!

Cucumber Cooling Clay Mask
If you have sensitive skin or skin which is quite red in appearance then this is the mask for you. This mask has a nice cucumber smell to it and when used it soothes the skin. This reduces the appearance of redness on the face; perfect to use whilst getting ready for a day/night out.

Some of my friends have used the fruity/berry face masks and they worked really well on them :)

Luxury face masks at bargain prices which can be used in the comfort of your own home whilst doing the household chores or just when you need that little pampering session (Girls Rule: We all need a pampering day every now and then!)

PRODUCT REVIEW: GARNIER SKIN NATURALS SUMMER BODY MOISTURISING LOTION

Hello all!

Hope you are well, well, here I am with another product review for you! Today's review is on GARNIER SKIN NATURALS SUMMER BODY MOISTURISING LOTION.
So summer is here (apparently), and I'm sure some of you are just like me...I tan so easily! The few quite so sunny days we have had have tanned me quite a lot this year. Unfortunately for me, I was left with a very uneven tan. So to combat this, I decided to buy a tanning lotion, not an actual self tan, but just a lotion which gave you a hint of a tan, to even out my unfortunate tan.. I was unsure of what to buy as I had never used one before and I didn't want to spend too much on it just in case it didn't work.  So, I popped into Superdrug one day and found GARNIER SKIN NATURALS SUMMER BODY MOISTURISING LOTION on offer for £3.56 (Normally £7.15). I thought, I'll buy it and give it a go.
I started using it and from day 2 I noticed my skin tone had started to tan. It works straight away and is really good! You can use it all year round as a normal moisturiser AND MOST IMPORTANTLY it DOES give you the promised sun kissed look!

Pros: Gives you the sun kissed look, works straight away, has a lovely apricot fragrance and isn't too heavy (is absorbed well by the skin)
Cons: None for me!

GARNIER SKIN NATURALS SUMMER BODY MOISTURISING LOTION is available for light skin tones and deep skin tones :)

My arm looks so fat LOL. You can see my normal skin tone
and then the tan from both the sun and the lotion

PRODUCT REVIEW: NIVEA TINTED MOISTURISING DAY CREAM - NATURAL

This for me is a godsend! I absolutely love this tinted moisturiser.  For a while, I had been using the natural collection tinted moisturiser (from Boots) but I wanted something lighter and more natural looking. Then I came across the NIVEA TINTED MOISTURISING DAY CREAM - NATURAL half price at Superdrug and thought why not give it a go? I am so glad I decided to buy this product on an impulse. This is a light moisturiser which leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. It blends in well with my skin too and it has an amazing fragrance to it. It has an SPF of 8 so it helps protect against the sun too. It also leaves my skin looking clear (As I was told by a friend who noticed this). Normally, I find it hard to come across a tinted moisturiser which leaves my skin looking clear but this NIVEA TINTED MOISTURISING DAY CREAM - NATURAL does the job! I definitely recommend you try this product :)
I no longer feel the need to use foundation at all when doing my make up, I just use this moisturiser.
Why not give it a go?
It may be the product for you!

Simple Summertime Look

Today I had a meeting to attend with my uni society to discuss ideas for the new academic year (I am the Head Of Marketing and Events :) ) So today I decided to go for a simple summertime look, this look takes no more than 5-10mins to create. Absolutely perfect for those days you need to rush but wish to look good! For this look I used two of my favourite beauty must haves as mentioned in the post before:
Rimmel London Volume Flash Scandaleyes Mascara
Seventeen Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Rose Passion (160)
and plenty of bronzer
This is one of my favourite looks as it is quick and easy to do but can also be worn all year around!
The outfit I decided to wear today is a simple summertime look as well. I really like lace and love the lace detail on this top that I just had to buy it! (Sorry about the rubbish background in the photos!)

Hope you liked this post :)
